Morochno marshland (Brest oblast), 2014

Eight teams of artists and public activists took part at the fest. Participants transformed their being experience into environmental artworks. This art-conception defines as environment-art cohesion.

All the art was considered as short lifespan work and expressed a zero-influence principle.

Fest’s mission – to raise the attention of media and publicity to the wetlands drainage issue. In June 2011, the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Belarus in partnership with the «Beltopgaz» organization claimed about future plan to drain eight marshlands located within the reserves. Environmental activists launched public campaign ‘In Defence of the Belarussian Marshlands’, during which the educational media project called «The Eight Marshlands» was created and the fest «Bahna» was conducted.

In April 2016, the campaign was successfully finished: much of the area of marshlands was rescued.
